True Love

It was a Monday Afternoon. Raining outside...as she and Hawkeye had a bit of a falling out. Couples fight and well they were getting to know each other. She eyes the rain as it is miserable, as she sipped her coffee as she had a day off. All soldiers were collected from the field and patience were put to rest for the night. She had a weekend to rest and she looks at the thunder going over the sky. She sighs looking over the horizon since she had a tent in the best spot int he place...she can see over the water and the bushes are swaying two and fro. She looks at the soldiers Going into their tents for the night. The water is tossing out to sea...and she waters her plants and sits down to finish her coffee . Good to the last drop. She gets her food on her plate that she got from the Army store and she sits down. She reads the newsletter and then curls up on her couch and she eyes the rain and just thinks....she feels lonely...and the day is dragging on. *Sighs...* what did I do to get him so mad..I know I did surgery with him..and was a little slow on hte draw on pulling the blood out to drain...but other than that? (as it was a lot more....) they almost lost a patient.) she tears....as she looks at Hawkeye's picture. She lays on the couch... thinking her nap would be nice to have. she sighs... I miss you Hawkeye......I can be such an idiot.

Ladies man. That's what Hawkeye was known to be around the camp. Everyone knew that. It was nothing worth hiding. Nothing to be ashamed of. He always had his way with women but no one was quite like Margaret, or Hot Lips, as he called her often. But things changed since that day they were stuck under enemy fire. The kiss they shared was still on his mind. As he lay in his bunk, there was only one thing he was thinking about: Margaret. Was this an official thing or just a casual friends sharing a kiss?

Margaret lays back in her bunk...laying back...should she stay? or go back home? She has a job to go back to when she returns...should she go back? or should she hang in ? She tears looking at the frames...of the team and one special one of Hawkeye...and she just cannot get her mind off of him....she wonders... what should i do? *sighs* .... as the rain hits the windows giving them a washing.

Hawkeye couldn't take it any longer. He had to go see Margaret. "BJ, I'll be back. I gotta see Margaret. If I'm not home by midnight, don't look for me." he joked.

He nods as Margaret thinks and sighs...and folds her washed clothing...she looks out at the rain and finally it lets up some.....pouring herself another coffee she looks out and the rain lets up but everything is soppy wet. She lays back on her couch...and eyes the old radio putting on some music she can pick up...she eats her biscuit she dips in her coffee.

Hawkeye walked over to Margaret's tent and knocked. He was nervous as hell. No kidding. What was he gonna say to her?

Margaret looks at the window and she opens the door letting him in...sitting on the couch...eating her bread and looking up at him. Hi..Hawkeye...she sits waiting for him to. They needed to talk about the surgery. and then who knows after that.

Hawkeye let himself in and sat down. "Hey Margaret. Look, I wanna talk to u about what happened when we were banished away from camp and caught under enemy fire. I don't know what happened or how things ended up happening the way they did. I hope u know what I'm talking about. Am I making any sense?" he asked.

She nods... well yes i understand that ...and I am willing to help... *gulps* I was um...fired. the Kernal gave me a dismissal form.......he said you were right and i almost killd a patient...with my actions.... So...I am heading back to California next week. Im piled into the next plane going out... she tears.... I go back to California State hospital to work... *Sighs* unless something is done about it.

"You're wrong. He reviewed the case and it wasn't your fault." Hawkeye said.

She looks. Okay.... he does not like me very well. I know that for certain. She sighs. Hand on her cheek. What goes on now? what about...Us?

Hawkeye smiled. "That's what I came by to talk to u about, Margaret. I couldn't stop thinking about what u said when we finally made it to the 8063rd. U said I took advantage of u while u were drunk. I wanna clear something up. I kissed u because I was caught in the moment and I know u felt I turned away. I may have. But I'm not sure what's happening between us." he said.

She looks...: well did it occur to you I love you??

Hawkeye sighed. "It didn't until we came back from the 8063rd. If u haven't noticed, it isn't easy for me to share my feelings for someone, especially when that someone is u, Margaret." he said.

She nods...looking at him...things take time...but I do love you...Hawkeye...and nothing i mean nothing will change that.

Hawkeye laughed nervously. "Uh huh. So...where do we go from here?" he asked.

Well anything. she smiles... just date..have fun...etc. I would love to go and have a nice dinner at the mess hall and just enjoy your company a little?

Hawkeye smiled. "We could go now. Drinks are on me." he said.

She smiles...thank you...she looks at him. taking his arm...and they walk out to the mess hall. A music band was flown that night...and they were gonna have a little concert.

Hawkeye smiled. "I wonder what will happen at the end of the night." he said.

She looks: Never know....*Giggles* Let that speak for itself?

Hawkeye smiled at Margaret. "Come here, Margaret. There's something I need to tell u." he said.

She sits down...and looks at him...yes? what is it? she smiles.

Hawkeye took Margaret by the hand and kissed her. "That's what I wanted to tell u, Margaret." he said.

She smiles and kisses him back...Me too..she smiles ear to ear ...happy at what happened.
